How they work

Blue-wavelength light in the evening can suppress melatonin, the hormone that signals night to your body. Amber lenses absorb most of that light before it reaches your eyes.

Amber lenses

Orange-tinted lenses block a large share of blue light, more than clear "computer" lenses.

Made for evenings

Wear them for the last 2 to 3 hours before bed. They are not intended for daytime or driving.

Questions

Will they cure insomnia?

No. Small studies suggest amber lenses worn in the evening may help some people sleep a little better. They are not a treatment for any sleep disorder. See a doctor for persistent sleep problems.

Do they reduce eye strain?

The best available review found little evidence that blue-light filtering glasses reduce digital eye strain. We do not claim they do. Regular breaks and good lighting help more.
